Celebrate Earth Day

Montreal hosts a wide variety of educational and recreational events to celebrate Earth Day this April. Workshops taught by eco-designers and biodiversity specialists instruct both children and adults on the importance of conservation, recycling, and reducing carbon emissions.

Celebrate Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd, several environmental events will take place throughout Montreal. Join millions across in the world in rejoicing in the beauty and splendor of Mother Earth by attending workshops, art showings, or simply taking a bike ride around scenic Montreal. The ways to remind yourself and others about the importance of keeping our Earth healthy and clean are endless.

Save some gas and burn some calories by biking through Montreal. Over 300 miles of bicycle paths weave throughout the city’s most scenic areas, including the St. Lawrence River and Lachine Canal. One loop in particular begins at the Atwater Market and leads to the Les Berges bicycle path, which runs 13 miles through a greenbelt alongside the St. Pierre Lake.

After a long bike ride, enjoy scrumptious food at the Atwater Market to support local agriculture and business. The indoor-outdoor market hosts a wide array of organic and exotic food stations from which to choose.

The Everyday Heroes film festival will show several environmentally centered documentaries made by children ages 13-17 on subway screens throughout Montreal. This annual contest continually produces exceptional, educational content by Canada’s youth. Go green and keep an eye out for more ways to celebrate Earth Day in Montreal.
